No, it's not a photoshopped image. But is it real?
Yes! It's real alright. Called “Maman,” this giant spider sculpture is 30 feet high and 30 feet wide, with an egg sac containing 26 marble eggs.
The artist is Louise Bourgeois.
A stainless steel version is currently on loan to the Tate Modern in London, and another six bronze casts are located at National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Mori Art Museum in Tokyo, Samsung Museum of Modern Art in Seoul and Havana in Cuba. So, be on the look out!
